Hollywood Cemetery

These are just a few of the things I saw at the Hollywood Cemetery, in Richmond, VA when I visited in August. We didn't stay long, because we were on our way somewhere else, and it felt about 150 degrees that day... can't wait to go back.

Bruton Parish Church Graveyard

Yesterday, I visited the Bruton Parish Church graveyard in Colonial Williamsburg. This church was built in 1660. There are supposedly a lot of people buried here, but back in the old days only the wealthy could afford grave markers, so a majority of the graves are unmarked. Here are a few of the more interesting things I saw there.

I'm always amazed by very old grave markers, and the work they put into them back then. It makes modern tombstones look a little plain.

305 years ago, today...

...this little fellow died. Noticed the date while walking around in a very old grave yard in Williamsburg, Virginia earlier today. I'll post some other pictures I took there a little later. There was just something special about this one.
